The Sydney Swans Best and Fairest medal is named after him; the Bob Skilton Medal.

One of the game's most prominent players, he was one of 12 inaugural "Legends" inducted into the Australian Football Hall of Fame. He later turned to coaching and work in the media as a popular broadcaster and journalist.

Graham "Polly" Farmer (Died since signing 14 Aug. 2019) - an official Legend of Australian rules football and widely regarded as one of the game's greatest players. The Graham Farmer Freeway in his hometown of Perth is named in his honour.

He is officially recognised as the "best player of the 20th century" according to the AFL, is a Legend in the Australian Football Hall of Fame, on the Hawthorn and AFL Teams of the Centuries and is one of the most successful AFL coaches of all time.

Bob Pratt (Died since signing 6 Jan. 2001) - Considered "arguably the best full-forward in the history of Australian rules", Pratt was one of the inaugural legends inducted into the Australian Football Hall of Fame in 1996.
