About the 1995 Rugby World Cup:
Hosted and won by South Africa, this was the first Rugby World Cup held entirely in one country. The thrilling final took place at Ellis Park, Johannesburg, where South Africa edged New Zealand 15–12 in extra time, thanks to Joel Stransky’s iconic drop goal. Nelson Mandela famously presented the Webb Ellis Cup to captain François Pienaar, symbolising unity and hope for a new South Africa.
