The Invincibles
The undefeated cricket team that toured England in 1948, under the captaincy of Don Bradman became known as ‘The Invincibles’. Today they are recognised by many experts as one of the best, if not the best sporting team to ever represent Australia.
The team is famous for being the first Test Match side to play an entire tour without losing a match. This feat earned them the nickname ‘The Invincibles’. Including five Test matches, Australia played a total of 31 first-class fixtures, plus three other games, two of them being non-first-class matches played in Scotland. Their record in the first-class games was 23 won and 8 drawn; in all matches, they won 25 and drew 9. They won the Test series 4-0 with one match drawn.
The 1948 Australian tour has a great significance in cricket history. It was the first side to tour England unbeaten and was Sir Donald Bradman’s final appearance in England and his last Test series. The side is generally regarded as the greatest that Bradman appeared in.
To commemorate that very special year and the remarkable record of the team, we are proud to present ‘The Invincibles’.
This new amazing display includes a fantastic team portrait of all seventeen players along with individual action shots and career statistics of each memorable team member.
Most importantly, several years ago, 8 players put their hand to pen to provide remarkable personal signatures (4 of whom have now passed on) from that marvelous team including:

The other 9 players Don Bradman, Lindsay Hassett, Ray Lindwall, Keith Miller, Don Tallon, Sid Barnes, Ian Johnson, Colin McCool, and Ron Saggers signatures are pre-printed. All in all, you would be hard pressed to find this many personal signatures on a product that represents the 48’ team.
Finally, the surrounding mat border has printed details of the entire 1948 season with all Match results and First class averages. Never again, will such a release be available to the public. With only 100 limited editions worldwide, this is sure to be a sought after collectable
